You will find that so many businesses run separate applications to manage their sales and financial operations. Typically, this is referred to as CRM for sales, marketing and customer care, and ERP for Operations and Finance. Well, Dynamics 365 Business Central allows you to run advanced sales and opportunity management without the need for any external CRM or ERP solutions. Easy as that. From here you will have the opportunity to quote your clients and close the deal!

Turn Opportunity To Quote

In this blog, we take a look at the capabilities of Dynamics 365 Business Central when converting a sales opportunity into a quote. This feature specifically set up for the Sales and Relationship Management role, so make sure you are logged in and set to the Sales and Relationship Management role. If you are not, just head up to settings and switch over to the correct role.

 

You will see the rich information targeted specifically for the sales role. It will show all the key links up at the top menu bar including opportunities, sales quotes, sales orders, etc.. 

 

As you scroll further, all the sales activities will be visiblie as well as an overview of the current open opportunities. You can select ‘Opportunities’ and it will take you to a page with all the opportunities on the system. You can add a new opportunity, or further investigate other opportunities.

Activate and Update.

In our example, I am going to edit a current opportunity, specifically the opportunity that relates to the revamping of an office in Sandton.  Once you have the opportunity created, you will need to activate it. You can update details as the opportunity changes and you can monitor and change details as you need, like the estimated value of the opportunity or the opportunity’s chance of success.  You can create the sales quote right from this opportunity and have the sales quote emailed directly to the opportunity’s point of contact. Ensure that you have added a contact in order to proceed.  Business Central will prompt you to add a contact if none has been added.

 

All the information from the opportunity will be copied over into the sales quote for you and you will be able to add items as you need into the sales quote.

 

Send The Quote

Once you are happy with the sales quote, you can send it straight to the client. Select ‘Send by Email’ and provided your Business Central environment is linked to your Office 365, the sales quote can be sent quickly and easily straight from Business Central to your client. These templates are predesigned and as such, there is no delay in getting out your quotes to your prospects and customers.
