With the release of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 R2, the new Self-Serve User CAL (introduced with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015) will now have its own unlocking that is enforced within the Microsoft Dynamics GP product. Customers will no longer get ‘limited users’ unlocked but instead these will appear as Self-Serve User CAL.
Microsoft Dynamics GP customers that deployed the Self-Serve User CAL in their Dynamics GP 2015 environment will need to upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 R2 as soon as possible. The Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 R2 registration keys will be available for download in the PSBC (PartnerSource Business Center, formerly VOICE) customer account in the Registration Keys section. Upon upgrading, Self-Serve User CAL within the Microsoft Dynamics GP product will need to be updated to a self-serve status. For any customer who implemented a high number of Self-Serve User CAL, a script will be available here under “Product Downloads” to mass update users.
Important: Any customer who has the Self-Serve User CAL licensed on their Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 product, will not be able to purchase/expand any additional functionality and/or users via the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 product catalogue in Order Central. These customers are required to expand their license functionality via the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 R2 order catalogue in Order Central.
The upgrade to Dynamics GP 2015 R2 is similar to a service pack update – it is not a major product version upgrade.
Customers on Dynamics GP 2015, who have not implemented Self-Serve User CAL, can continue to use Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015. However, we recommend that customers stay current and move to Dynamics GP 2015 R2 at their convenience.
